Processing of Accepted Manuscripts

Conservation and Society is published four times a year. Reports will be given priority over other types of publications since they present new work.

A manuscript is considered formally accepted after all corrections are carried out to the satisfaction of the Editor. Once the Editor accepts a manuscript, the author will be asked to submit a final manuscript that will be checked by the Editorial Office and then sent for copy editing and type setting. It is important that the authors ensure that references, notes, etc. are inserted correctly and that the manuscript is submitted in the format outlined in the manuscripts submission section. Incomplete manuscripts will be sent back to the authors. A type-set manuscript is sent to the author for final proof reading. Authors are expected to make only the necessary corrections. At this stage, the journal will take responsibility for any errors from our side. However, if there are other extensive corrections such as extensive additions/ deletions in text requiring lay out changes, authors will have to pay charges, and the publication of the manuscript may be postponed to a next available issue. Once the corrected proofs are received from the author, the manuscript can be officially termed as ‘in press’ and will be published in the next available issue.

We do not supply hard copy reprints, but PDFs of the final manuscript will be available to the authors.
